The story
Angelo Mangiarotti for Artemide
Country: Italy
Period: 1960s
About Angelo Mangiarotti
Milanese architect and designer Angelo Mangiarotti (1921-2012) built his work on the logic of structure and material. His Eros tables for Skipper (1971) and the related Incas and Asolo series use blocks of marble or stone that hold together by weight and interlocking, without fixings. He also designed the Giogali chandelier for Vistosi (1967) from hooked glass links. Collectors favour early editions in rare marbles and complete, original glass assemblies.
