About Alexandre Kostanda
Alexandre Kostanda (1921-2007) was a French ceramist who settled in Vallauris after the Second World War, at the time the town became a centre of studio pottery. He is known for vases, bowls, lamp bases and sculptural pieces with deeply textured, crater like glazes, often in earthy greens, browns and blues. Collectors seek signed pieces from the 1950s and 1960s, particularly larger vases and lamps.
