The story
The varnished goatskin parchment, in rich shades of brown, makes this coffee table typical of designer Aldo Tura. This large coffee table would make a fascinating centerpiece for a living room. It’s been beautifully finished for a smooth, glossy texture that feels highly decorative. The chrome feet adds some extra character to it. Despite its sharpness, the warm, dappled colors of the table allow it to seem cozy, rather than harsh. It’s in very good vintage condition.
About Aldo Tura
Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was an Italian designer and maker based in Milan, known for furniture clad in goatskin or parchment and finished under layers of coloured lacquer. His workshop produced bars, cabinets, tables and mirrors, often with brass details and surprising sculptural or trompe l'oeil elements. The firm continued after his death. Collectors look for pieces from the 1950s and 1960s with rich lacquer tones and well preserved original surfaces.
