The story
Alain Richard
An oak coffee table by Alain Richard, produced by Charron for Groupe 4 in 1954. Its cut-out outline lets an armchair slide into it, giving the person seated a large surface for books, papers and objects.

About Alain Richard
Alain Richard (1926-2017) was a French designer who graduated from the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in 1949 and worked with René Gabriel. A member of Groupe 4, he designed rigorously functional furniture produced by Charron, Meubles TV and TFM.
