The story
The Pear Side Table is a low side table by [Louise Liljencrantz](/designers/veermakers), part of the exclusive [Pear collection](/collections/pear) developed with Monde Singulier.
The tabletop is organic and rounded, made from dark brown wood with visible natural grain. Four flat rectangular legs in matte reddish-brown painted metal support it, each curving subtly inward at the base — a structural gesture that creates tension between the dense organic wood top and the precise geometric metal below. The contrast is not incidental: it is the formal logic of the Pear series.
Natural dark wood above, lacquered metal below: the two materials are finished to different specifications. The wood retains its natural grain and texture; the metal is brought to a consistent matte surface. Neither dominates — the piece finds its balance in the deliberate difference between them.
This side table is the smaller-format companion to the Pear Coffee Table, sharing the same material language and the organic silhouette that gives the series its name. Both pieces were developed exclusively with Monde Singulier.
About Veermakers
Louise Liljencrantz and KFK Cabinet Makers, a Stockholm-based joinery firm, launched Veermakers in 2021, building on years of collaboration that had already produced LKFK Edition in 2017.
The studio works from a premise it calls slow design: each piece is made to last rather than to trend. Solid walnut, oak, Italian travertine, and steel burned in linseed oil are the materials of choice. Lighting pieces carry handwoven silk shades made in the Stockholm atelier. Most production happens in-house; specialist manufacturers handle select materials, as with the Italian travertine used in the Frank and Arrow Lamps.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
