The story
The Pear Coffee Table is a low table by [Louise Liljencrantz](/designers/veermakers), part of the exclusive [Pear collection](/collections/pear) developed with Monde Singulier.
The tabletop is organic in outline, cut from dark brown wood with visible grain and a natural surface texture. It rests on four reddish-brown lacquered block legs — a material that diverges sharply from the wood top. The legs are thick, their edges curving subtly inward at the base, giving the piece a sculptural stance without sacrificing the table's horizontal emphasis.
The top in natural dark wood and the lacquered block legs are finished to different specifications: the wood surface retains a relatively natural texture, while the lacquer on the legs is brought to a hand-polished high gloss. This difference in surface treatment — two degrees of intensity on two contrasting materials — is the defining characteristic of the Pear vocabulary.
The Pear collection was developed exclusively with Monde Singulier and represents Liljencrantz's exploration of the pear silhouette as a formal motif applied across table formats.
About Veermakers
Louise Liljencrantz and KFK Cabinet Makers, a Stockholm-based joinery firm, launched Veermakers in 2021, building on years of collaboration that had already produced LKFK Edition in 2017.
The studio works from a premise it calls slow design: each piece is made to last rather than to trend. Solid walnut, oak, Italian travertine, and steel burned in linseed oil are the materials of choice. Lighting pieces carry handwoven silk shades made in the Stockholm atelier. Most production happens in-house; specialist manufacturers handle select materials, as with the Italian travertine used in the Frank and Arrow Lamps.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
