The story
The ItooRaba Daybed occupies a room at its lowest register. At 35 cm high and 232 cm long, the piece extends as a horizontal plane in burned, brushed and black-oiled solid pine, its charcoal textile cushion framed by tiered platforms at each end that give the silhouette its formal distinction. The grain reads dark and quiet, the surface hand-painted to a matte finish that is deliberately imperfect.
ItooRaba takes its name from "itota rabtha," a Chaldean expression for the large seatings reserved for honoured guests at important gatherings. This daybed carries that register.
A companion to the ItooRaba Sofa or Coffee Table; equally resolved on its own. Burned, brushed, oiled. The patina deepens with use.
About Sizar Alexis
Sizar Alexis is a Swedish-Iraqi designer based in Eskilstuna, working at the intersection of Scandinavian brutalist design and ancient Mesopotamian heritage.
Before founding his studio in 2019, Alexis spent six years as a design engineer at Volvo, then studied fine arts at Beckmans College of Design. That formation, between industrial engineering and fine arts, shapes his practice throughout. He works with blackened steel, pine wood, and leather, materials both abundant in the Swedish landscape and tied to Eskilstuna's historic steel industry. Components for his pieces are produced in his father's metal tool factory, then hand-assembled in his own studio.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
