The story

Porto Chair No6 is part of the Porto Chair series from Project 213A, eight solid walnut seats united by a design logic that treats the backrest and base as paired graphic elements. This model's backrest combines a central diamond cutout with two flanking circular openings, three voids that introduce lightness into the solid panel without weakening its structural read. Below the seat, two broad curved supports face each other and merge at their base, producing the hourglass silhouette that gives this chair its distinctive floor-level presence.

Hand carved in solid walnut by skilled artisans in Northern Portugal, each Porto Chair registers the natural grain of the wood across every carved surface. The warm brown tone of the walnut carries visible variation from piece to piece, a quality inherent to the hand carving process rather than applied as a finish.

Porto Chair No6 belongs to the Project 213A Collection, the first furniture range by Project 213A, founded in 2021 by Jurgita Dileviciute, Theresa Marx, and Clement Deboeuf. The collection is named after Portuguese cities and coastal regions as an acknowledgment of the craft tradition behind its making.

About Project 213A
Project 213A

Project 213A is a Portuguese design house founded in 2021 by Jurgita Dileviciute, Theresa Marx, and Clement Deboeuf. The name comes from a London address where each founder lived at separate points during their studies, a shared geography that preceded their professional collaboration.

The idea for the studio took shape during the 2020 lockdown, when the three founders combined their professional backgrounds to build something together. Project 213A has operated from in-house ceramic and wood workshops in Northern Portugal since its launch, working alongside skilled local artisans whose traditional craftsmanship shapes every piece in the catalog.
