The story
The Nubo Console 02 is a large stone console by Mathieu Delacroix, part of the Nubo collection.
Two robust cylindrical bases in travertine support a long, organically shaped top surface whose profile undulates in a continuous wave. The edge of the top shifts in height along its full length, so the piece carries a different reading from each angle: from above, it reads as a functional console; from the side, the undulating form asserts itself as a stone object in its own right.
The entire piece is carved from light beige travertine. The stone's natural texture and subtle color variations are visible across both the cylindrical bases and the animated top, uniting the two distinct structural elements as a single material statement.
Within the Nubo collection, the Console 02 is the most overtly sculptural format. Mathieu Delacroix uses the console as a space to work on the tension between functional furniture and stone object, an interest that runs consistently through the Nubo collection.
About Mathieu Delacroix

Mathieu Delacroix is a French designer based in Paris, working across object, furniture, and interior design. A graduate of the École Supérieure d'Art et Design de Saint-Étienne (2016), he also studied at Nagoya City University in Japan, an experience that continues to inform his approach to form, material, and the cultural weight carried by everyday objects.
His early work earned international recognition at Dubai Design Week, the Milan Design Week, and PAD London. He also won First Prize in the Cinna Young Talent competition for his Tasso vase series. Alongside collaborations with studios including Guillaume Delvigne, Frédéric Forest & Clémentine Giaconia, and RDAI, Delacroix maintains an independent practice rooted in drawing, emotion, and material exploration.
