The story
The Arlo Chair by Pierre Favresse reduces the armchair's architectural logic to its essential geometry: four cylindrical black lacquered beech legs, two posts, a flat horizontal backrest bar, and a round ivory bouclé seat. Stripped of armrests, the silhouette approaches Japanese temple furniture — form at the point where nothing more can be removed.
Within the Arlo family, the chair reads as the armchair's more austere counterpart. The same École Boulle cabinetmaking precision governs every junction; the same cylindrical vocabulary makes structure legible at a glance.
A piece that rewards the room that does not compete with it. Works as a dining chair, a desk chair, or as a single object in a minimal interior.
About Maison Pierre Favresse
Pierre Favresse is one of the most recognized French designers of his generation. His work explores the intersection of craftsmanship, innovation and human experience.
Trained as a cabinetmaker at École Boulle before graduating from l'École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, he began his career alongside designer Mathieu Lehanneur, eventually becoming director of his studio. This formative experience shaped his belief that design can create meaningful connections between people, objects and their environment.
