The story
The Spina Armchair is a compact solid wood seat by Louise Roe, part of the Louise Roe Collection.\n\nThe design turns on a circular, thick seat carried by a single central support, with a curved backrest flowing into the vertical side elements without a visible junction. The form is dense and considered, with proportions that keep the chair compact without reading as small. A dark grey-brown finish surfaces the natural wood grain across the entire piece.\n\nMade from solid wood dark-stained to bring out the grain, the chair is manufactured in Europe by independent craftspeople. Louise Roe's production follows this approach throughout: skilled artisans who have worked their materials across generations, with no industrial shortcuts.\n\nWithin the Louise Roe Collection, the Spina Armchair sits alongside the Spina Chair, a pairing that reflects Roe's sustained interest in wooden seating where geometric structure and natural material find the same object.
About Louise Roe

Louise Roe is a Copenhagen-based designer whose practice spans vessels, ceramics, lighting, and furniture. Founded in 2010, the studio draws on the material clarity of Danish design while incorporating the production rigour Roe developed during her training in fashion and concept development.
That background shapes a distinctive method. Roe approaches each piece as she once approached garments: tracing it from sketch to finished form, managing the full production arc rather than delegating it. She works in close partnership with skilled independent craftspeople across Europe, artisans who have refined their disciplines across generations. Materials are chosen for honesty. Glass, ceramic, textile, stone, and oak appear throughout her collections as structural choices rather than decorative ones.
