The story
The Funki Stool 02 is a brushed aluminium stool from the Louise Roe Collection, scaled for use as a side stool or a compact occasional seat.
Its structure is two-part: a square prism base with subtly chamfered vertical corners sits beneath a wider, octagonal top slab that overhangs all four sides. The chamfering on the base mirrors the geometry of the octagonal top, creating a formal progression from square to octagon as the eye moves upward. The form is compact and robust, built for daily contact.
Brushed aluminium gives the piece a matte silver-grey finish consistent with the wider Funki series in the Louise Roe Collection. The material resists wear and requires no upkeep beyond wiping.
The Funki Stool 02 belongs to a family of seating and occasional furniture by Louise Roe that extends the same octagonal language across stools, benches, and tables, all in brushed aluminium, all at lounge scale.
About Louise Roe
Louise Roe is a Copenhagen-based designer whose practice spans vessels, ceramics, lighting, and furniture. Founded in 2010, the studio draws on the material clarity of Danish design while incorporating the production rigour Roe developed during her training in fashion and concept development.
That background shapes a distinctive method. Roe approaches each piece as she once approached garments: tracing it from sketch to finished form, managing the full production arc rather than delegating it. She works in close partnership with skilled independent craftspeople across Europe, artisans who have refined their disciplines across generations. Materials are chosen for honesty. Glass, ceramic, textile, stone, and oak appear throughout her collections as structural choices rather than decorative ones.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
