The story
The River Side Table is part of the Konekt Collection, produced by Helena and Natasha Sultan in Pennsylvania. The piece is compact and low, its form described by a soft organic triangular silhouette that widens toward the base. The body is made from cream-colored fiberglass, hand-layered to build up a smooth continuous surface with a consistent gel coat finish. The top is inlaid with a panel of calacatta marble, its white ground carrying reddish-brown veining, set flush with the surrounding fiberglass.
The River series is named after water-polished stones, and the forms Helena and Natasha Sultan developed for it carry that reference: organic, rounded, nothing angular. Hand-layering the fiberglass allows the studio to control the surface buildup and achieve contours not possible in injection-molded production. Each marble top is selected individually for its veining, meaning no two River Side Tables are identical.
Part of the Konekt Collection, the River Side Table is also available in a matching River Stool format. Handmade in Pennsylvania.
About Konekt
Konekt is a sculptural furniture and lighting studio based in Pennsylvania, led by mother-daughter team Helena and Natasha Sultan. Their practice starts from material: its physical properties, its craft histories, and what happens when unexpected materials are brought together with traditional ones.
Helena and Natasha produce handcrafted furniture and lighting that pairs contrasting qualities in a single object. Strength and fragility, solidity and fluidity, refinement and play: these are not tensions the work resolves, but tensions the work is made of. Each piece carries that balance in its surface, its form, and its finish.
