The story
The Rib Floor Lamp Capsule introduces a tall, elongated silhouette to Konekt's Rib floor lamp family. The capsule-shaped opal glass shade extends the rib motif vertically, dark bronze bands tracing the form from crown to base and producing a standing lamp with architectural scale.
Handmade in Pennsylvania by Helena and Natasha Sultan's studio, the lamp shares the Rib collection's material logic: opal glass combined with dark bronze metalwork. The elongated capsule format amplifies this combination vertically, creating a lamp suited to rooms with high ceilings or spaces where a tall vertical accent reinforces the interior composition. Opal glass diffuses light evenly across its surface, producing ambient illumination without a visible point source.
The Capsule is one of three Rib floor lamp silhouettes alongside the Sphere and Ellipse, all part of the Konekt Collection. The same blown glass and ribbed metalwork construction runs through the full Rib family, from table lamps and pendants to sconces, in a consistent material language across multiple scales.
About Konekt
Konekt is a sculptural furniture and lighting studio based in Pennsylvania, led by mother-daughter team Helena and Natasha Sultan. Their practice starts from material: its physical properties, its craft histories, and what happens when unexpected materials are brought together with traditional ones.
Helena and Natasha produce handcrafted furniture and lighting that pairs contrasting qualities in a single object. Strength and fragility, solidity and fluidity, refinement and play: these are not tensions the work resolves, but tensions the work is made of. Each piece carries that balance in its surface, its form, and its finish.
