The story
The Perception Floor Lamp is a standing lamp from Known Work Studio’s Perceptions Collection. A tall rectangular column in brushed grey metal rises to a translucent off-white diffuser. A small rough-textured knob in light brown marks the side of the column.
The proportions are vertical and spare. The column draws the eye upward toward the diffuser, which emits soft, even light. The knob is the single element that departs from the lamp’s otherwise industrial geometry. Handmade, rough against the brushed metal surface, it introduces material contrast without altering the silhouette.
The base is a flat metal plate. The black power cord is left visible at the bottom. Known Work does not hide the connection between its objects and their making.
Known Work Studio was founded in New York City by Danu Kennedy and Jeremy Levitt, partners at Parts and Labor Design. Creative Director Alex Dilena completes the founding team. The Perceptions Collection is their debut, a set of objects conceived to be collected and read closely. The Perception Floor Lamp is available on Monde Singulier.
About Known Work Studio

**Known Work Studio** was founded in New York by Danu Kennedy and Jeremy Levitt, partners at Parts and Labor Design, the award-winning NYC-based firm. The studio began from a shared commitment: to make objects with material integrity and craft that reads in the hand, not just the eye.
Creative Director Alex Dilena joined Kennedy and Levitt at the outset, shaping Known Work's collaborative process from the beginning. The three work at close range with each piece, treating design as investigation rather than output.
