The story

The Y Yuma Bedhead is Kelly Boukobza's architectural response to the bedroom. Its horizontal form divides into five distinct registers: a central upholstered rectangle in ivory bouclette, narrow light wood inserts on each side, and two wider outwardly curved panels in matching textile at the ends. Viewed straight on, the piece reads as a single composed element rather than a structure assembled from parts.

The Y. collection is organized around the collision of volumes, and the Yuma Bedhead makes that principle visible. Curved extremities and a linear center create a sustained tension across the width of the piece. The proportions are deliberate, the symmetry exact.

Ivory bouclette provides warmth and surface texture. Travertine finishes ground the piece in the raw mineral quality shared by the Y Yoki Dining Table, the Y Console, and other stone works in the Y. collection. The finishing across both materials reflects the level of craft that Kelly Boukobza applies through her KY Architecture practice.

About Kelly Boukobza
Kelly Boukobza

Kelly Boukobza is the founder of KY Architecture, a Paris-based interior architecture studio she established in 2012. After studying architecture and working alongside architect Isabelle Stanislas for five years, she launched her own studio with a style she calls Modern Art Deco.

Her references are the French Decorative Arts of the 1950s: Charlotte Perriand, Jeanneret, Serge Mouille, Le Corbusier. She works them against raw materials and the restraint of contemporary minimalism. Her interiors are structured yet lively, built around sober tones and refined atmospheres adapted to how her clients live.
