The story

The Y Ivy Armchair is a low-profile lounge chair in ivory bouclette on a rounded natural wood base. Its silhouette is generous without being heavy: the form stays close to the floor, the back cushion is full, and an additional lumbar pillow completes the seating position. Vertical indentations along the armrests give the upholstered mass a precise articulation, preventing the generous volume from reading as indistinct.

Kelly Boukobza built the Y. collection around Modern Art Deco, where geometric rigour combines with the warmth of organic form. The Ivy Armchair sits in that territory clearly. The wood base introduces natural contrast beneath the upholstery, a framing element that anchors the soft cream textile above it.

The bouclette carries the texture in this chair. Its off-white surface catches light differently across the curved and flat faces, reinforcing the three-dimensional quality of the armrests. The same material runs through the Y Ivy Sofa and Y Ivy Asy Sofa, forming a coherent seating family within the Y. collection.

The Y Ivy Armchair is available at Monde Singulier.

About Kelly Boukobza
Kelly Boukobza

Kelly Boukobza is the founder of KY Architecture, a Paris-based interior architecture studio she established in 2012. After studying architecture and working alongside architect Isabelle Stanislas for five years, she launched her own studio with a style she calls Modern Art Deco.

Her references are the French Decorative Arts of the 1950s: Charlotte Perriand, Jeanneret, Serge Mouille, Le Corbusier. She works them against raw materials and the restraint of contemporary minimalism. Her interiors are structured yet lively, built around sober tones and refined atmospheres adapted to how her clients live.
