Y Desk

The Y Desk from Kelly Boukobza's Y. collection is cut from a single material: light beige travertine with pronounced horizontal veining. The long rectangular top sits on two substantial angled bases that assert different functions. The left base integrates three drawers flush with the stone face; the right base is a solid geometric block. The asymmetry is deliberate, an echo of the collection's interest in volumes that collide rather than mirror each other.

The top has slightly tapered ends, giving the monolithic mass a degree of precision at its edges. Against the weight and mineral presence of the stone, this shaping reads as restraint applied with care.

Travertine is the dominant material language of the Y. collection, appearing in the Y Yoki Dining Table, the Y Console, and the Y Yara Fireplace as well as here. Each piece treats the stone differently. In the desk, the focus is the relationship between the raw surface and the integrated millwork of the drawers, where natural irregularity and precision exist side by side.
