The story

The 2093 Armchair D is a modular seating unit from Garance Vallée's 2093 collection, combining beige upholstery with dark brown wood veneer panels edged in silver metal trim.

The piece is armless. Its low back provides support without enclosing the sitter, and the seat's subtly curved front edge softens an otherwise strict rectilinear composition. Square cutouts on the wooden side panels introduce the geometric punctuation that distinguishes the 2093 series.

Materials operate in three registers: the beige textile is warm and soft; the wood veneer is dark and grainy; the metal trim is cool and reflective. Garance Vallée uses these three elements consistently across the 2093 collection's seating range, varying their proportions to differentiate each piece.

The Armchair D is designed to function within modular groupings as well as independently. Its open, armless form and defined footprint make it suitable for assembly alongside other units from the 2093 collection.

About Garance Vallée
Garance Vallée

Born in 1993, Garance Vallée is a French multidisciplinary designer, artist, and architect based in Paris. Her practice spans furniture, sculpture, installation, painting, and scenography. She works across these disciplines without hierarchy, always returning to the same question: how does a body inhabit space, and how can an object resist reduction to pure function?

Trained in architecture, Vallée builds her pieces with artisans, stonemasons and metalworkers, whose traces remain visible in the finished object. Natural pigments, raw concrete, warm-toned plaster, wood, and metal form a material vocabulary that is organic without being decorative, shaped by texture and physical presence. The studio combines hand sketching and scale models with hands-on production, making craftsmanship visible rather than polished away.
