The story
The Médano Sofa in bouclé is part of Estudio Persona's Médano collection, named after the Spanish word for sand dune. Its profile is low and wide, with stepped, rounded sections that recall sedimentary layers: organic in outline, geometric in construction. The silhouette reads as a single unified mass rather than an assembly of parts.
Upholstered in bouclé, a looped textured weave, the sofa carries warmth without weight. The natural beige tone anchors a space without demanding attention. The material's gentle irregularity works against the piece's strict horizontal logic, softening edges without blurring them.
Designed by Emiliana Gonzalez and Jessie Young in Los Angeles, the Médano Sofa is made to order in collaboration with local craftspeople. It sits at the intersection of Brutalist minimalism and material restraint, a modular piece built to hold its position across scales and interior contexts.

About Estudio Persona
Estudio Persona was founded in Los Angeles in 2015 by Emiliana Gonzalez, an industrial designer from Uruguay, and Jessie Young, an artist. Their meeting in California sparked a collaboration that fused two distinct disciplines into a singular practice: sculptural minimalist furniture built from raw, honest materials.
Their design philosophy draws from Art Deco geometry, brutalist construction principles, and the reductive logic of minimalism. Inspired by Carl Andre's modular sculptures and Tadao Ando's refined modernism, Gonzalez and Young aim to capture what they describe as "the raw and honest beauty of Brutalism." Pieces carry bold silhouettes, neutral tones, and a quiet, functional presence.
Delivery
Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
