The story
The PAPARITMO armchair is Studio ASAÏ's first foray into furniture design, translating Antoine Simonin's interior architecture practice into a freestanding object.\n\nIts form is substantial and boxy, set close to the ground, with generously rounded edges that soften the silhouette without losing architectural presence. Wide arms and a low back create a posture that is both enveloping and composed. A single circular brass detail on the outer arm is the piece's only ornamental note.\n\nThe chair is upholstered throughout in a light beige ribbed textile, its vertical corduroy-like channelling visible across the arms, back, and seat. Subtle piping traces the contours of each surface, giving the geometry definition without decoration. A solid beechwood base completes the piece.\n\nPAPARITMO is part of a five-piece collection extending Simonin's non-style approach to domestic seating. Studio ASAÏ, recognised by the AD 100, has worked across private residences, luxury hotels, and exhibition design since 2014. Available through Monde Singulier.

From his formative years with Andrée Putman and later with Jean-François Bodin, Antoine Simonin continually pushes boundaries, playing with conventions, challenging space and time, weaving improbable colour palettes with a deft touch, and spinning inspirations and references to distill an essence of non-style, neither retro nor futuristic. A non-style that moves closer to a dreamlike future, bold enough to embrace all possibilities... revealing the wonder around us and uncovering the hidden beauty that eludes us.

Every piece is packed and shipped under insurance, from the workshop to you. White glove delivery (unpacking, installation, packaging removal) is available on request. Delivery is not charged at checkout: we send you a quote within 24 business hours of your order. You have 5 days to accept and pay it (secure payment link or bank transfer), otherwise your order is cancelled and fully refunded.
