The Gia Coffee Table is a low table in solid wood with a curved, organic top and block legs connected by an arched cut-out.
Arielle Assouline-Lichten worked the Gia from a single material: warm brown solid wood whose grain runs prominently across the top. The upper surface is not flat or uniform; it follows a gentle curve, giving the table an organic presence that contrasts with the rectilinear geometry of most low furniture. The legs are solid blocks, connected below by an arched negative space that lightens the form without reducing its structural character. Exposed silver metal screws at the joins mark the construction honestly.
The timber selected for the Gia Coffee Table carries natural variation: prominent grain, tonal shifts, and a texture that reads differently under direct light and ambient conditions. The curved top invites touch in a way that flat surfaces do not. The result is a piece that reads as both functional table and tactile object.
The Gia Coffee Table is part of the Coexist collection by Slash Objects, Arielle Assouline-Lichten's exploration of the intersection between natural material and deliberate form. Made to order and available through Monde Singulier.

About
Slash Objects
Arielle Assouline-Lichten is an artist, architect, and multidisciplinary designer whose work explores materiality, ephemerality, and the pursuit of form. Her approach to furniture design is rooted in elevating overlooked source materials to create bespoke elegance. She is the founder of Slash Objects, a studio based in New York and Paris, that works at the tension between the natural world and man-made processes.
Arielle has studied and worked in Copenhagen and Tokyo, shaping her minimal and intentional aesthetic. Her signature collection Coexist plays with balance and harmony, probing the intersection between materials. Her collection Unbroken explores transience, celebrates imperfection, and questions the ephemeral nature of materials over time.
Guided by an architectural ethos, every piece is a study in balance and structure, built to answer equally to function and form. Each piece is made to order by world-class artisans, creating collectible furniture that roots together earth, hand, mind and body. Her work is available on Monde Singulier.
