The Pedregal Sofa is a made-to-order seating piece by Atelier de Troupe, part of the Pedregal Collection. Conceived by Gabriel Abraham, whose studio is based in Los Angeles, it belongs to a body of work that treats furniture as architectural element rather than domestic accessory.
The Pedregal Collection draws on Mexican modernist architecture as its primary reference, and the sofa carries this lineage through its sculptural wood frame and measured proportions. The structure is built from warm-toned solid wood with visible grain, establishing a quiet materiality that anchors the piece. Upholstery is selected for tactile quality, neither decorative nor incidental but integral to the overall form.
Each piece from Atelier de Troupe is made to order in the Los Angeles studio, hand-finished by craftsmen who work with natural materials across furniture and lighting. Within the Pedregal Collection, this sofa forms part of a coherent seating vocabulary alongside the Pedregal Daybed and Château Chair, pieces that share the same attention to material weight and constructive clarity.

About
De Troupe
Gabriel Abraham founded Atelier de Troupe in Los Angeles in 2011, drawing on fifteen years as a production designer for film and television. Born in Switzerland and raised in Aix-en-Provence, Abraham moved to Los Angeles in 1995. His transition into object design began in the Schindler-designed Bubeshko Apartments, where he started building lamps to complement the modernist interior. That origin tells you everything about his approach: the studio conceives each piece like a film set, building atmosphere before committing to form.
The aesthetic draws from Bauhaus minimalism, French Art Deco, and the cinematic design of 1960s Italy. Working with brass, bronze, hand-blown glass, and steel, Abraham produces lighting and furniture made to order in the studio's 4,500-square-foot atelier in West Adams, each piece built by artisans based in Los Angeles.
Signature series such as the Pedregal collection, worked in glazed lava stone and wood inspired by Mexican modernist architecture, and the Empire lighting series, presented at Milan Design Week, illustrate the studio's formal range. Selected as a Rising Talent at Maison&Objet Paris in 2019, Atelier de Troupe has earned recognition across the collectible design field for its luxury handcrafted lighting and furniture.
On Monde Singulier, the studio's pieces are available made to order for collectors drawn to objects where material precision and cinematic atmosphere converge.
