The Plain Armchair is a compact contemporary seat from the Karina Sukar Collection, designed by Karina Sukar Design Studio in Beirut.
The armchair's form is defined by straight armrests that curve at the outer profile, keeping the silhouette contained and architectural. The back pillow and seat cushion are upholstered in black textured leather. A light wood panel forms the base structure, with dark angled legs extending outward to provide a stable, low-slung stance.
The material contrast is deliberate: black textured leather above a light wood base, lifted by dark angled metal legs. Proportion manages the tension between warm and cool, light and dark.
Part of the Karina Sukar Collection, the Plain Armchair pairs with the Plain Sofa, sharing the same material logic and structural vocabulary.

Karina Sukar founded her interior architecture studio in Beirut in 1996, building a practice that now serves residential and commercial clients across Lebanon, Europe, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Karina Sukar Design Studio operates across two disciplines: comprehensive interior design and architecture services from concept through turnkey delivery, and the design and manufacture of bespoke furniture and accessories. The furniture practice grew from a concrete observation: standard off-the-shelf pieces could not meet the standards her high-end residential projects demanded. Today, custom furniture design sits at the center of the studio's offer, with each piece conceived in Beirut and finished by a network of specialist artisans.
Sukar maintains close oversight of every project, working alongside a team of architects and designers who handle commissions of varying scale. Precision runs through the studio's working method: delivery on time, to specification, within budget. That discipline, consistent across thirty years of practice, anchors a reputation that extends well beyond Lebanon.
The portfolio spans high-end residential interiors and commercial spaces across multiple countries. Many clients return for successive commissions.
