L'histoire
Beautiful Italian style and high quality manufacturing for this mid-century chandelier designed by Gaetano Sciolari for Mazzega in the early 1970s. This 9 lights chrome and Murano glass chandelier will be ideal to highlight a lounge living room, a round dining room table or an entry. The white smoking murano glasses add a sense of mystery and intrigue to the chrome. A beautiful vintage piece, found in a great vintage condition.
À propos de Gaetano Sciolari
Italian lighting designer Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994) founded his own company in Rome and became one of the defining names of 1960s and 1970s lighting. His chandeliers, sconces and floor lamps assemble chrome, brass and glass in geometric, often architectural compositions, from stacked cubes to cascading rods. Collectors favour large chandeliers in chrome and brass with complete elements, and pieces from his own Sciolari production rather than later derivatives.
