The M_006 Console in white oak is a low geometric console from the Monolith Collection, designed by Marc Personick.
A continuous flat top rests on a sequence of inverted trapezoidal forms arranged at regular intervals. Each support echoes the next. The repetition creates rhythmic open voids along the full length of the piece, and the overall effect reads more like architecture than furniture. It is the most structurally legible object in the Monolith Collection.
White oak brings grain and warmth to a design governed otherwise by geometry. The natural medium-brown tone shifts with the light, recording the directional figuring of the wood across each face of the trapezoidal supports.
The M_006 exists in two versions within the Monolith Collection: this one in white oak and a counterpart in travertine. Marc Personick uses both to demonstrate how the same formal logic behaves differently across contrasting materials.

About
Monolith
Monolith is a New York design studio and gallery founded in 2023 by Marc Personick. The practice centers on one formal idea: brutalist furniture design that belongs in the home with the same authority it occupies in architecture. Every piece begins with geometry and mass, then submits to the logic of the material.
Stone and wood structure the Monolith palette. Travertine, volcanic and porous, arrives cream-colored and marked by natural incident: veining, pores, the record of its formation. White oak runs warmer and more immediate, offsetting the stone's geological weight. Together, the two materials define the studio's range: neither polished nor rough, but deliberately between.
Personick collaborates with architects and independent designers to expand the Monolith vocabulary. The M_001 Chair, a U-shaped travertine block resting on two differently formed legs, typifies the approach: geometry without ornament, material without apology. The M_007 Lounge Chair stacks travertine into an angled resting form, functional and sculptural in equal measure.
The Monolith Collection spans more than twenty objects: seating, tables, consoles, benches, and lighting, each available in stone or wood variants. Launched in 2023, the collection has attracted collectors and interior architects looking for geometric designer furniture grounded in material discipline rather than surface gesture.
Monolith pieces are available on Monde Singulier.
