The End Table Chair is a compact plywood chair from the Goons Collection, built by studio Goons in Paris from reclaimed wood in a dark finish.
The form is tightly considered: a solid back panel and a flat seat are joined at right angles, with a single short armrest positioned on the left side. The base takes an A-frame configuration, the angled legs giving the piece a visual tension absent in the Lounge Chair's strictly orthogonal posture. All edges are left exposed, the plywood layers running along the back, seat, and base visible as a series of fine laminations. The piece is compact in its footprint, its depth calibrated to sit flush against a wall without projecting far into a room.
Reclaimed wood gives the End Table Chair a deeper, less uniform brown than the birch plywood dominant elsewhere in the Goons Collection. The name reflects its dual function: it reads as a chair from the front, but its flat armrest and adjacent height make it work equally as a side surface.

About
Goons
Goons is a Paris design studio founded in 2020 by architect Paul Trussler and designer Mia Kim. Working from a shared interest in materials and formal economy, the two bring complementary disciplines into a practice that sits between furniture, object design, and sculpture.
Trussler trained in architecture and spent years working with Frank Gehry and Atelier Tsuyoshi Tane on international projects spanning museums, galleries, and private residences, before founding Pentagon, his California-based office specializing in handcrafted objects and precise architectural drawing. Kim brings a background in fashion, printmaking, painting, and sculpture, shaped by years as a designer and creative editor at Hermès and Chanel.
The studio's approach starts with a simple concept and follows its logic until it becomes structural. The M Collection, built around stacked and shaped birch plywood, became the studio's defining exercise in that thinking. Evolving Forms, their first solo exhibition at St Vincents in Antwerp (January to March 2025), expanded that vocabulary into a full collection of dining furniture, stools, benches, and chairs in Scandinavian birch plywood with Italian pure-wool upholstery.
Goons has been featured in AD France, AD Collector, Elle Decoration, and Milk Decoration, among other publications.
Their furniture and objects are available on Monde Singulier.
