About the collection
The Pedregal Collection by Atelier de Troupe draws on the architecture of Luis Barragan's Pedregal Gardens, a lava field at the edge of Mexico City that Barragan transformed into one of the defining expressions of Mexican modernism.
Gabriel Abraham's studio worked alongside multi-generational Mexican artisans to develop each piece from glazed lava stone and locally sourced wood. The result carries the material logic of Barragan's landscape: dense, tactile, weighted. The studio's Brutalist and Art Deco sensibility shapes the forms into objects that feel both ancient and precise.
Pieces such as the Pedregal Daybed and the Pedregal Coffee Table demonstrate how the collection translates geological rawness into domestic furniture, where lava stone acquires a refined glaze while the wood retains its natural grain.
Each piece is made to order in partnership with craftsmen in Mexico, a working method that keeps production close to the materials' origin.
