The Various Positions Nightstand is a two-door bedside piece from the Lemon Collection, built around a contrast between dark and light wood.
A square dark wood top with high sheen and rounded edges sits above a warm, light brown body. Below, a cylindrical base grounds the composition, adding a gentle curve at the base of an otherwise rectilinear form. The two front doors meet at a slim dark vertical line, their wood matching the base tone rather than the top, so the piece reads as layered rather than uniform.
The name "Various Positions" hints at Kevin Frankental's interest in furniture that adapts to context: a nightstand in one room, a side table in another. Lemon's pieces are designed to move through spaces without becoming fixed to a single use.
As a storage piece, it keeps its contents discreet. As an object, the tonal contrast and the interplay between the glossy top and the matte body do the work without further announcement.

"There's often a tendency to romanticize the past, which I believe drives today's nostalgia", he explains. "While not everything was better before, certain classics stand the test of time and resonate across generations."
In a world increasingly marked by a sense of sameness in fashion, beauty, and design, Lemon turns away from trends. "We have no interest in looking at what's new for inspiration; doing so often results in just another version of something that already exists", Kevin reflects.
Lemon's creative process involves delving into archives: historical design, film, art, fashion, or anything that sparks inspiration. Sometimes, it's as simple as an old, beautiful photograph. From these influences, Lemon creates pieces that are a contemporary nod to the past. Each item is thoughtfully designed to be useful and needed, often inspired by objects they would love to own but cannot find elsewhere.
The result is elegantly simple pieces designed for everyday use and admiration. Each creation evokes nostalgia and romance while staying true to traditional craftsmanship, sitting naturally in contemporary spaces.
