The 2093-ST is the pendant version of Olivier Mourgue's 2093 series, published by Disderot as part of their programme of French mid-century lighting reissues.
A long cylindrical stem in polished chrome descends from the ceiling rose to a shallow, wide shade whose rim carries a subtle undulating curve. Beneath the shade, a spherical glass bulb hangs exposed, its rounded form playing against the flat geometry of the disc above. A thin white electrical cable runs parallel to the main stem, a detail that reads as both functional and graphic.
The construction combines polished steel and chrome-finished aluminium. The spherical glass bulb sits unenclosed, diffusing light outward without a secondary diffuser. Each piece in the Disderot Collection is numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The 2093-ST belongs to a coherent family: the floor lamps 2093-150 and 2093-225, the table lamp 2093-80, and the wall lamp 2093-A share the same polished chrome vocabulary and biomorphic logic. Olivier Mourgue designed the series for Ateliers Pierre Disderot in the 1960s and early 1970s, the same years that produced his Djinn seating for Airborne International and established him as one of the defining voices of the French Space Age movement.

About
Disderot
Disderot is a French lighting publisher focused on reviving lamps conceived during the postwar decades of French modernism, from the 1950s through the 1970s. The house works from the archive of the Ateliers Pierre Disderot, a lighting publisher that collaborated with architects and independent designers throughout that era.
The approach is archival rather than interpretive. Each reissue follows the original specifications, manufactured in France with the same materials: aluminium bases, opaline glass lampshades, and the same attention to surface and finish. Every model carries a number and a certificate of authenticity, a distinction that matters in a category where undocumented reproductions circulate alongside certified editions.
The catalog spans several designers from the original Ateliers archive. Olivier Mourgue's 2093 series is reissued in wall, floor, table and pendant versions. Works by Janine Abraham and Dirk-Jan Rol are also part of the range. The Michel Mortier 10497 table lamp and 10527 floor lamp, designed in 1972 and originally published by Verre Lumière, are available on Monde Singulier in an exclusive gradient colorway: three finishes in Beige, Green and Blue applied to the aluminium and opaline glass form.
Disderot lighting is available on Monde Singulier, selected for the integrity of its numbered editions and the continuity of its French manufacturing.
