Section

Section is a complete furniture system by Paul Coenen, developed in Eindhoven from a single formal proposition: material determines form, not the reverse. The collection spans bench, stool, tables, shelving, mirrors, and lighting, each executed in matte light-grey metal with a concrete-like finish.

The organizing principle holds across every piece. The Section Bench joins two U-shaped metal sections to form a seat. The Section Desk assembles interconnected flat panels that generate their own shelving compartments. The Section Wall Sconce translates the same panelled geometry into a wall-mounted lighting volume. In each case, the construction method is the design decision.

Section is an exclusive Monde Singulier collection. Across ten pieces, Paul Coenen demonstrates that a furniture system can hold formal coherence without visual repetition: each object occupies its function while remaining legible as part of the same material and geometric thinking.
