Roche & Frères
Alexandre and Maxence Roche are twin brothers and interior designers who founded their studio Roche & Frères in Paris in 2022. Originally from Le Puy-en-Velay in Haute-Loire, they grew up against the raw mountain landscape of south-central France, where winters between the Mézenc and Saint-Front left their mark.
After completing master's degrees in interior architecture and theatre scenography, the two turned toward object and furniture design with a single conviction: the piece of furniture is a jewel. Each design is built around the relationship between object, body, space, and time. Every piece tells a story drawn from personal memory and a wide historical perspective.
Their aesthetic language converts childhood memories of Haute-Loire winters into steel. The material, worked across multiple forms and textures, captures the visual states of snow and ice: blades, blocks, layers, fractures. This approach found its first full expression in the Mémoire de glace collection (2024), which brought the studio to Paris Design Week 2024 and Art Paris 2025 at the Grand Palais (French Design Art Edition). Every piece is handcrafted by master artisans in France.
On Monde Singulier, Roche & Frères present works from Mémoire de glace: steel furniture and lighting that carry the geological memory of Haute-Loire into contemporary interiors.
