About the collection

The Slab collection by Benni Allan (EBBA Architects, London) translates the relationship between column and beam into furniture form. Four pieces cover three scales of coffee table and one side table, each built on the same logic: a patinated steel slab resting on solid oak cylindrical bases.

The steel tops are treated in two distinct ways to develop their patina, so each piece acquires a surface formed by process rather than simply finished. Circular imprints pressed into the steel trace the geometry of the oak columns below, reading as ghost columns from above. The contrast between the cool, textured steel and the warm oak grain runs through every format.

An exclusive on Monde Singulier, Slab was created by the winner of the Young Architect of the Year (Building Design UK) and Dezeen Awards finalist. Available in four formats: Slab Coffee Table S, M, and L, and Slab Side Table.
