About the collection
The Sashaxsasha Collection begins with an archive. Over years of architectural work, sashaxsasha photographed the furniture construction workers assemble from site offcuts: benches from timber scraps, tables from concrete remnants. The result was a catalog of forms shaped by necessity rather than design.
The first objects appeared at Collectible Brussels 2020 in black, a neutral that strips each piece to its silhouette, letting structure speak without material distraction. The second phase introduced a deliberate contradiction: those same rough-derived forms surfaced in burgundy eucalyptus veneer, a finish associated with fine cabinetry. Found-object origins, luxury material.
The collection comprises four pieces (SSBO1W Bench, SSB01L Bench, SSS01W Stool Left, and SSS01W Stool Right), all in MDF with burgundy eucalyptus veneer. Alexandra Gineva and Alexander Dobrovskiy, the Paris-based duo trained as architects in Ghent, carry that discipline into each object: functional, monumental, shaped by the distance between the improvised and the refined.
