About the collection
Mise en Scène is a collectible furniture collection by Tatjana von Stein, launched in 2023. The eight-piece collection captures the balance between movement and stillness, precision and expression, taking its central inspiration from the dialogue between sculptor Isamu Noguchi and dancer Martha Graham.
Each piece translates choreographic vocabulary into furniture form. The legs of the Pointe Side Table recall the poised stance of a dancer, while the Straight Sofa carries the sweeping line of arms mid-pirouette. The Fabric Screen turns on its axis, caught between two gestures, and The Bar embodies the counterweight of strength that underpins every choreography.
Crafted in marble, walnut or sycamore wood, and burl wood, the materials reinforce the collection's defining tension: flow held within solid form. Every piece is made-to-order, numbered, signed, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
