Manhattan
By Girodroux & Delpy
About the collection
The Manhattan collection is a suite of fifteen seating and table pieces designed by Girodroux & Delpy, created exclusively for Monde Singulier.
The collection takes its name from the energy of a New York business trip, but its material language speaks to something older. Hand-carved solid wood bases, whose stacked and stratified forms evoke primal sculptural traditions and totemic structures, are paired with soft cream boucle and textured textile upholstery. The contrast is deliberate: the urban pace of Manhattan set against the slow time of worked material.
Pieces such as the Manhattan Curved Sofa and the Manhattan Console carry this dialogue across the full vocabulary of interior furnishing, from low seating and occasional tables to dining chairs and accent stools. The carved wooden bases, present across the range, are each shaped by hand, so no two pieces share identical surface marks.
As the first collection by Girodroux & Delpy available through Monde Singulier, Manhattan represents the Paris studio's expansion into edition furniture: fifteen pieces that translate the studio's interior architecture practice into objects for living.
