Les Objets
By Johanna de Clisson - Hiromi
About the collection
Les Objets is Hiromi's core design research: sculptures that function as lights and lights that read as sculptures. Johanna de Clisson launched this series in 2021, working from chamotte earthenware and cracked enamel to probe the boundary between design object and art piece.
The series shares a formal logic rooted in architecture. Three self-imposed shapes (circle, half-circle, cylinder) recur across Objet 6, Objet 12, and Objet 13, each exploring a different silhouette and scale. Objet 6 exists in chamotte earthenware and in a dual-texture cracked enamel version. Objet 12 sets a broad dome on a narrow cylindrical base. Objet 13 abstracts a bent line into a monolithic standing form.
The material study is the subject of the work: raw chamotte for tactile depth, cracked enamel for sensual contrast, the two often combined on a single piece. All objects are made by hand in Johanna de Clisson's atelier in Paris.
