Known Work Studio
Founded by Danu Kennedy and Jeremy Levitt, partners of the award-winning New York City-based design firm Parts and Labor Design, Known Work is an expression of their dedication to detailed craft, material integrity, and fostering community at an intimate scale.
At the helm of the studio, along side Jeremy and Danu, is Creative Director Alex Dilena, the trio envisioned Known Work together, bringing their collaborative approach to the forefront of their design process.
The studio has an anthropological approach to each collection, investigating the relationship between human and object. A reverence for craftsmanship is paramount. Whether it be sketching, molding, carving, the studio is proximal to their process. In this way, objects are seen as artifacts. Known Work seeks to stir the visceral, to make the unknown ‘known’.
