The story
A unique and timeless vintage piece, this Aldo Tura mid-century cabinet bar feels imposing and glamourous. The varnished goatskin parchment, in rich shades of red, makes this cabinet typical of designer Aldo Tura. Its boxy style, featuring two doors with brass accents all over, and two shelves inside, is typical late 1960s to 1970s flair. The warm, dappled colours of the piece allow it to seem cosy and glamorous. The cabinet has been fully restored and repolished, and is found in a very good vintage condition. A very rare find, and a true timeless Mid-Century Italian beauty.
About Aldo Tura
Aldo Tura (1909-1963) was an Italian designer and maker based in Milan, known for furniture clad in goatskin or parchment and finished under layers of coloured lacquer. His workshop produced bars, cabinets, tables and mirrors, often with brass details and surprising sculptural or trompe l'oeil elements. The firm continued after his death. Collectors look for pieces from the 1950s and 1960s with rich lacquer tones and well preserved original surfaces.
