Two circular apertures pierce the lower sides symmetrically, each the same diameter, each positioned to let the interior light escape outward in two distinct directions. The surface is chamotte: off-white, matte, with a slightly sandy grain that retains traces of the hand. A narrow opening at the crown takes the E27 bulb.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJohanna de Clisson works with a constrained formal vocabulary: circle, half-circle, cylinder. Objet 24 uses all three. The dome is the half-circle; the foot is the cylinder; the portholes are the circles. The closed surface makes the openings legible as decisions rather than incidentals.
