The 2093-80 is a table lamp from Olivier Mourgue's 2093 series, reissued by Disderot from the original French publisher's specifications.
The circular shade is formed from multiple overlapping curved white elements, each shaped like a petal, assembled around a central opening where the light source sits. A slender chrome stem rises from a flat, reflective chrome base, and a U-shaped metal handle sits at the top of the shade. The entire colour register is white and silver: the shades, the chrome, the base. Nothing competes with the geometry.
All metal components are polished chrome. The shade elements are white. Disderot produces each 2093-80 as a numbered reissue, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
The 2093-80 is the table-surface version of a vocabulary Mourgue extended across five configurations for Disderot. The 2093-A mounts the same petal form on a wall. The 2093-150 and 2093-225 scale it up to floor lamps. The 2093-ST suspends it from the ceiling. Together they form one of the most cohesive product families from the French Space Age period. All are available in the Disderot collection.
Disderot is a French lighting publisher focused on reviving lamps conceived during the postwar decades of French modernism, from the 1950s through the 1970s. The house works from the archive of the Ateliers Pierre Disderot, a lighting publisher that collaborated with architects and independent designers throughout that era.
The approach is archival rather than interpretive. Each reissue follows the original specifications, manufactured in France with the same materials: aluminium bases, opaline glass lampshades, and the same attention to surface and finish. Every model carries a number and a certificate of authenticity, a distinction that matters in a category where undocumented reproductions circulate alongside certified editions.
The catalog spans several designers from the original Ateliers archive. Olivier Mourgue's 2093 series is reissued in wall, floor, table and pendant versions. Works by Janine Abraham and Dirk-Jan Rol are also part of the range. The Michel Mortier 10497 table lamp and 10527 floor lamp, designed in 1972 and originally published by Verre Lumière, are available on Monde Singulier in an exclusive gradient colorway: three finishes in Beige, Green and Blue applied to the aluminium and opaline glass form.
Disderot lighting is available on Monde Singulier, selected for the integrity of its numbered editions and the continuity of its French manufacturing.
