Kho Liang Ie

Three No. 704 lounge chairs by Kho Liang Ie for Stabin in Woerden, 1968, with a slim chromed steel frame and fabric upholstery. Kho Liang Ie was one of the leading figures of post-war Dutch design.

À propos de Kho Liang Ie

Born in Java in 1927 and trained in the Netherlands, Kho Liang Ie (died 1975) became one of the leading Dutch interior and product designers of his time. As an adviser to Artifort he shaped the company's modern collection, and he designed seating of his own with low, rounded forms. He also designed the interiors of Schiphol Airport in the 1960s. His work is valued for its calm, precise and humane modernism.
