Cees Braakman

Cees Braakman (1917-1995) was a Dutch furniture designer who spent most of his career at Pastoe (UMS) in Utrecht, where he became head designer. His Japanese series of the late 1950s, in birch and teak, and his wire and plywood chairs show a sober, modular modernism. His storage systems helped define Pastoe's identity. Collectors seek original pieces from the 1950s and 1960s, especially the Japanese series and cabinets in good condition.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1029/0685/5806/files/MM07-Sofa-Cees-Braakman-Pastoe-2-scaled.jpg?v=1793014836
vestige-cees-braakman-tm-series-side-table-with-magazine-rack-birch-and-steel-pastoe-1955
Cees Braakman, TM Series Side Table with Magazine Rack, birch and steel, Pastoe, 1955

Cees Braakman

A rare TM series side table with magazine rack designed by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, 1955, in birch on an enamelled steel frame.

Materials: Birch, steel

Style: Mid-Century Modern

Origin: Netherlands

Period: 1950-1959
